I stumbled big time trying to make HD disk. I purchased hauppauge HD PVR 1212 and it worked great. The video format captured, according to MediaInfo, is mpeg-ts or H.264. My goal is to editing out commercials and burn it on DVD. I have PS3 but I also want to share with my friend who doesn't have Blu-ray player yet.
I tried TotalMedia Extreme that came with it and it did provide editing but it's not frame by frame so sometimes it is hard to find the exact starting and ending point of commercials. I tried H264ts_cutter as well. The problem with that is MediaInfo reported my resulting video clip more than 5 hours which should actually be 76 minutes.
So I am wondering what's the best workflow for me to achieve my goals, which are:
(1) editing out commercial accurately
(2) create DVD that can playback on regular DVD player.
Thanks in advance
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

I would try TMPGEnc MPEG Editor 3 or Ulead VideoStudio.

I end up using h264tscutter to remove commercials and TMPGEnc 4.0 xpress for transcoding.
