MKV to Xbox 360

Hi im a complete newbie to this.

I trying convert my mkv videos to a for mat that the xbox 360 can reconise via copy the output file on a dvd and playing it from the disc on the xbox system.

I have used got sent program to convert it but when i burn the file on disc and play it on the xbox 360, the file cannot not be read, it the system sayes the file is not supported.

is there any information anybody can give me to do play my hd videos on xbox via disc and not streaming.

Both Xvid4PSP and MeGUI are capable of this. Pretty sure Xvid4PSP can start with the MKV file, there may be some pre-processing necessary.

You need the latest dashboard update, and there is a limitation on the audio for 2.0 only. no 5.1 audio.

XBOX360 needs mp4 files, I'm using HD captures for source, when encoded using compatible presets am getting excellent results.
