    Hi guys,
Could you anyone please help me with my problem.
I'm trying to record an ilinc conferencing, which is basically a live lecture given online.
I tried freecoder but it wouldn't record the lecture.
Are there any programs that will allow me to record a video conference?

    I'd greatly appreciate any help.

    Thanks

    M.

    Thanks so much.
    Camcast seems pretty nice.
It does what I want it to, but, I keep having problems with the compressor so I wasn't able to open up my file.
If I can get past this hurdle then camcast is definitely a great software.
    Thanks for the recommendation.

I use the last freeware version of zd soft screen recorder. It gets the sound and the video of just about all what is going on screen. If you want to try it just reply.

    Hi there,
Thanks for your suggestion, yea zd softscreen recorder
seems quite nice. But, the trial offer only allows up to 5 mins of recording.
I have to look harder for the free version.

    Thanks

    Here you go.

    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2ymltg5jydz

By the way, don't update it because it will update to shareware version.

For me, recording to wmv produces a non seekable file.

It installs "video graphics accelerator" in device manager display adapters.

You don't have to turn off hardware accelerator if recording something like in wmp.

    Need more help just reply.

Also, realplayer record feature can record most online videos.

    Hi there,
Thanks so much for giving me that link.
I tried it out today and seems pretty nice, but its not smooth recording.... it shows that it is moving from frame to frame. How do you get sound? the record sound box on mine is grayed out.
What are the settings you use? It didn't record all that great at 10 frames/sec (which was its default setting).
Would very much appreciate your help.

    Thanks so much.

Here is my settings for best quality.

    Record specified area
    draw border around record area
    hide this window
    around 29 to 30 frames/sec
Choose avi file and the slide to high quality(large file)
    auto increment file number

You first have to select an area before recording(click on select an area and then draw a box and left click to finalize area chosen)
By choosing avi file you should now be able to configure sound properties. May have to adjust for optimal quality. Choosing high quality is the best and the output file really won't be that huge even if you record over an hour.
You can stop the recording from the tray icon by right click and stop.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thankfully I saw this post to help set up ZD Soft to record an iLinc teleconference. I downloaded the software, followed the instructions and used the recommended settings from the previous post. It records everything just fine, with one exception. When I play it back in Windows Media Player it is very dark. I tried adjusting the settings to brighten the screen in Windows Media Player but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Do you have any suggestions for correcting this? Is there another setting or format that I should be using?

I also sent this message to Milardo in a private post in case this one doesn't get monitored anymore.
