I have an MKV File. Mplayer states that the video is 23.976 fps and MediaInfo states that it is 23.979. Which would be considered the most accurate?

    what does avinaptic say?

23.979 might be a faulty reading since it's an "weird" frame rate

I will download the tool and let you know. I personally think Mplayer is more accurate, but I don't want to take a chance.

I downloaded avinaptic and it was in italian and I just didn't have time to either figure out how to change to english or read it in italian :P . I went ahead and just extracted the AVI and both are saying 23.976.

    Thanks
