    over the last month having lots of problems with trying to write to it keep getting the error cannot find disc-at-once
    i looked on the internet and cant seem to find a hardware upgrade or firmware upgrade

    Because LG is infamous of not providing firmware upgrades for their drives. You can try checking out the LG FORUM at CdFreaks.com for information but I doubt you'll find any new firmware for your drive.
