    Hi,

I'm a newbie in audio editing and I would like to ask for some help.

I have this song whom I want to make into a ringtone.

The problem is, I only want a portion of that file as my ringtone, I don't want the whole song.

What software should I use for this task?

    Thanks!!

Audacity is probably the best free audio editor, closely followed by wavepad for simple work. Either will do what you need.

There is also Wavosaur, which I haven't checked out yet, but also looks to be free.
    Audacity is pretty good, though.
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum ( http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ ) (http://lasvegas.wikia.com/wiki/Las_V...of_Fame_Museum ) -- over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this gradually disappearing American art form.

    MP3 DirectCut if it's an MP3 file.

Looks suspiciously like a scam to get suckers to upload free MP3 audio files to your server under pretense of creating short ring tones. You must a quite a collection happening there.
