I've seen the forum titled "Youtube Upload, increase quality/control (HQ hack obsolete)" and the first post mentions that the method no longer works.

Is there a new method for getting crisp and clear video to YouTube other than clicking on the "Watch in high quality" button or &fmt=18?

    A few more comments:

I've been playing around with differnt settings on Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and encoding to wmv. I'm on test 24 and the best quality I've gotten so far is:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whAhhmiT_A0 (480 x 360) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gULFBfc9MeY (640 x 480).

Using Windows Movie Maker, I got this, which is the worst quality of all my test videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q78qI9Xw_EA

Notice how in "test 24" and "test 22", the grass becomes clear, pixilated, clear, pixelated again, and so on.

The grass in Windows Movie Maker video is consistantly blurry/pixelated throughout the video and does not switch back and forth from good quality and bad quality throughout the video like test 24 and 22.

you'd be better off using wme for wmv's because the default wmm settings are about as far off as you can get

have you read all the posts in that thread? towards the end you'll find hacks, some might work, that is the thread to watch for news ways of uploading to youtube. No need for another thread
I love it when a plan comes together!
