    For those who are familiar with CCE's interface, any idea on how they get the video information in the picture below? How would they get it when the source is an AVS file? I did a search and I found something called Dexter, but I don't know that much about it.

    AviSynth uses the filters such as AviSource and DirectShowSource.
    mpeg2source uses the d2v index file.

    Look at the code to other open source projects that handle video and avs files, like VirtualDub.
