    This model name sounds like its a recorder, not a player? Recorders are FAR more difficult to "hack": the bigger the name (Pioneer, Panasonic, Sony) the harder the recorder is to hack, usually impossible. Also, recorders almost never standards convert, so even if you could hack the region you still might not get a usable signal. Save yourself much trouble, buy an inexpensive "hackable" player that converts. The most common answer worldwide is to own BOTH a recorder that works in your country, and also a multi-region multi-standard player.
