    Hi All,

    How to connect VGA port on laptop to Svideo port on tv, what is the cable we need to use ???
    Iam able to connect it to another monitor via VGA out.

    Unless your laptop is one of the few that supplies s-video on the VGA port's unused pins, you don't. You will need a scan converter:

    Note that s-video is much lower resolution than your typical laptop's LCD so it will be very fuzzy.

    You don't have a laptop "TV port" ?

    A friend has one and he likes it.For best picture set the output on your laptop to 640x480/60Hz/16bit.

    There is a mini-trend for budget laptop manufacturers to offer "TV out" (S-Video, composite, YCbCr) only on the port extender option*. This would offer marginal higher quality solution vs. an external standards converter.


    * Idea is low end buyers are only interested in price on initial purchase so the manufacturer puts important connectors on the high margin port extender option. Similar to an auto manufacturer making the trunk (aka boot) key a $500 option.
