    As far as I can tell, now that they've elminated bitrate stuffing or even just flying under the bitrate radar, you can't get stereo by default. Even the "playback in high quality" doesn't yield stereo.

    The only way I've seen is the &fmt=18 trick.

    Anyone know otherwise?

    Except this guy is playing games and says he's "sworn to secrecy" about how it's done. Can't say I'm in a hurry to wade through the technical doc he ref's you to.

    When I re-upload the .flv that ends up in my temporary internet folder with this video, it gets re-encoded to mono.

    From other commentary on YouTube, it appears it's a Hex hack of some sort. I'm not at all versed in that.
