    Goal:

Rip my entire collection of DVDs and Blu-Rays, including menus, audio channels, subtitles, etc. Basically, I'd like a perfect copy of each movie in *some form*. These would (hopefully) be browsable and streamable over my network via a Popcorn Hour unit.

Based on what I've read and searched on, I *think* it's simply a matter of ripping the movie to an iso image. I'm not concerned about hard disk space so I think re-encoding isn't an issue. I just want all the full functions as if I'm playing the actual DVD thru a standalone player.

    Any help or insight appreciated!

    TIA

The only real way to maintain menus, is by simply creating dvd images. But you will need to know if the Popcorn Hour unit supports them.

From reviews I've read, the Popcorn Hour player does support a lot of stuff, but I don't know about BluRay rips. DVD rips should be no problem though.
Popcorn Hour won't play everything and expecting to stream BluRay to it may not be realistic. There's been some discussion in the past of the Popcorn Hour player in the forums at http://www.doom9.net, specifically in the Hardware Players section. If nobody here has any definitive answer, you might ask over there specifically about the BluRay part of your plan.

Thanks very much guys. From looking into it I think that it probably won't do a full Blu-Ray rip as if it was in the drive so I may just convert them to an mkv or something.

    Again, thanks for the input!
