    You could try VideoCalc instead.

Or if you have real problems with a bitrate calculator, you can find your "Magic Number".
This is a number that'll work for you as a rough guide.
Because I use pretty much the same menu, 256kbps AC3 2 channel audio etc. for DVD's, I've found that dividing my "Magic Number" by the running time in minutes of the movies I want to encode will give me the video bitrate I can use.
My number is 585000. So a 100 minute movie will be a video bitrate of 5850kbps, a 145 minute movie is 585000/145 = 4034, and so on. I always round down the number, so for 4035 I'd use 4000.
You might have to experiment to find your own "Magic Number".

You'll find this just below the online calculator:

    Download
Download this Bitrate Calculator here so you can use it offline, extract all files to a folder and open the BitrateCalc.html with any web browser. If you can't view the Java calculator applet install Suns Java plugin.

click on the hyperlink and save to your hd. Since you already installed the Java plugin you should be all set.

Have you even tried the bitrate calculator redwudz linked to? It is a small program that works very similar to videohelp's online calculator but is an independent program. Pretty simple and works well. Heck, it even works in linux with wine!

If your PC is not connected than you have to connect through some other PC, download from here:
    http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=18713
and than copy it to your offline pc and execute it there.
