    Hi, I have a problem. I have gotten the output from a surveillance camera and need to convert it to a normal video file. Right now all the frames are jpeg images (around 600 of them) and one wav file for the audio. I use a program called DVRViewer 2 to watch it. Is it possible to convert that into a normal video format such as avi or mpg? And in that case, how?

    Thanks in advance

    You can use virtualdub and load the first image and all should load automatically if they are named like image001.jpg imag002.jpg and so on.
    Select Video->Compression and choose a video compression like divx,xvid or uncompressed=huge.
    Select Audio->Wav source and choose the wav file.
    Select Audio->Compression and use wav or mp3.
    Select File->Save as avi.

    When I try to import/open the images in the program theres an error message saying "Cannot detect file type of ...". I know theres something special about the images since when you look at them in an image program like PS they are as if in widescreen format. In the program u use to view the whole sequence they aren't widescreen...

    Could you post one jpg here? You can attach files when you post.

    The jpgs must be in sequential JPEG format...whatever that means. .

    You could batch convert all jpgs to bmp using irfanviewer and then load in virtualdub.

  7. For some reason, I find virtualdubmod works better when importing stills. It worked with your sample picture for me where virtualdub failed.

    In addition to Baldrick's instructions:
    Configuring the audio is a bit different than vdub: audio=>streams list=>add. Then right click on the stream, full processing mode, right click on the stream again, compression (you can use something like lame mp3 if you have the lame acm codec installed)

    You may have to specify a frame rate to keep it in sync with the .wav: video=>frame rate
