Hi, I haven't a clue and have just started using Vegas 8 Platinum to edit & crop small segments from very good quality avi files. The program edits the video wonderfully, but the resulting product contains no audio. How do I solve this or what am I forgetting to do?

Even when I try to play the unedited avi file in this program I have no audio?

    Thanks for your assistance.

What is the audio codec in the avi file? Identify with gspot or mediainfo.

Convert the audio to wav with for example virtualdub and the use the wav as audio source. You can use goldwave or virtualdub (click on them for guides).

I'd be guessing the mp3 audio is VBR encoded, which Vegas does not like.
