    I hav sony DV camcorder. Can i capture video by connecting it to my computer USB through DV cable.

    No. Most Sony camcorders if not all require use of "iLink" (aka IEEE-1394 or Firewire) to transfer full quality 720x480/576 digital video. Some models allow a "CIF" ~352x288" low resolution "webcam" level feed over USB. This is intended for web streaming.
