First of all, I must say this forum's great, and you guys are really helpful

    Now, onto my question:

I've been experimenting with HQ video lately.
I found a certain way to make my videos look great, but you have to add the &fmt=18 code at the end every time.

    EXAMPLE:

    Normal Quality:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUJTFlCb4f4

    &fmt=18:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUJTFlCb4f4&fmt=18

    &fmt=6:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUJTFlCb4f4&fmt=6

To give you a better example of the quality, pause at :47

Anyway, what I'm asking is, if my video has both HQ and normal quality versions, why am I not getting the HQ link?

What settings do I have to use to make the link appear?

    Thanks in advance

    Try this ...

Howto Get Videos to Play HQ by Default

This option has not been implemented on many accounts but the howto is already present in the youtube help pages. You need a youtube account to be able to do this.

    1. Go to your Account page.
    2. Under “Account” click the “Video Playback Quality” link.
    3. Select the playback setting that makes sense for you.
    4. Click the “Save” button.

Since today I see a new Interface at YouTube. And playing the files with fmt18 doesn´t bring up the phrase of "play at lower quality" as before.

    Any more changes?

That just plays the videos as default HQ.
