    Hi

I’m new here. I use Smartripper to rip a concert DVD audio to AC3. And PX3 from AC3 to MP3. However MP3 is a big chunk of one concert song in MP3. Is there any freeware and guide to split them into individual track?

Have also tried GoldWave trial. One disadvantage is you need to buy it. Also it is unable to split into individual track which I desire ( I mean it can do the splitting but some track is splitting wrongly. I need a freeware and a guide to do easy splitting. Is there any ? Also the guide by Brendan Kidwell on the excel to do the splitting is very difficult for a newbie like me. Is there a easier one ?

    Thanks

    Regards
    Steve

MP3 DirectCut. Should be easy enough you won't need a guide, but there likely is one on this forum.

DVDDecrypter - file splitting by chapter.
Ciler's AC3Tool for AC3 to WAV (CAREFUL with the file naming - it will keep overwriting AUDIO.wav with AUDIO.wav)

    OR
Take one giant .WAV file and use CDWave to split the concert into chapters. VERY easy to use.

Don't forget to change from 48.000 to 44.100 if you plan on burning them to a normal audio CD later.

DVDDecrypter only can access the DVD drive. All my file at in the PC. DVDDecrypter has no means to access the directory in the PC.

I will try CDwave to see if it can split Wav.file by chapter.

    Thanks

It is probably explained elsewhere but why does an audio CD require 44.100?

    ImToo DVD Audio Ripper
Used it on many concerts and I get MP3 in one shot and in separate tracks.

It's explained in the Audio CD specifications (AKA Red Book - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Book_(audio_CD_standard) ). In other words - Audio CD is 44.1 kHz.
