Sorry to ask this pbbly again. I have been trying to do this for days.
I know my way around in audio but have no experience in video. And now I'm adding music to a short clip that came on .mov but Audition audio software doesnt like it.
Audition handles .avi, .wmv, mpeg, .mp2, .mpg
I have already installed two converters DivxtoDVD, y VOB2MPG to no results
Basically would love to know a downloable freeware with little or not blotware, but cant seem to find it.
Thanks

It depends what kind of audio the .mov is using. Use mediainfo to determine this. I'm guessing it's probably h.264 video and AAC audio
You can convert it to an .AVI container with .mp3 audio in avidemux (free)
1) Video sidebar => "copy"
2) Audio sidebar => "mp3"
3) Format => "AVI"
4) Press save including extension (e.g. "myfile.avi")
Cheers -
Oh thanks.
Media info showed this:
General : C:\AAAAya\section 8
Format :
Length : 766 Bytes for
General : C:\NACHO\Taller \TallerFilesB8mov\8.mov
Format : qt
Length : 10 MiB for 1mn 45s 66ms
Video #0 : MPEG-4 Visual at 790 Kbps
Aspect : 320 x 240 () at 15.000 fps
/////////////////////////
Ah กก the clip comes originally with only video... and so i add audio.
I am trying with Aviedemux, seems it is able... i am trying.
Go direct to try your instructions above.
Thanks -
Avidemux seems to be converting ok.
...However Audigy does not open it
Mediainfo shows the following info when applied to the aviedemux-created file:
General : C:\AAAAya\section 8
Format :
Length : 766 Bytes for
General : C:\NACHO\TallerFilesB8mov\8.mov
Format : qt
Length : 10 MiB for 1mn 45s 66ms
Video #0 : MPEG-4 Visual at 790 Kbps
Aspect : 320 x 240 () at 15.000 fps
General : C:\AAAAya\section8.avi
Format : AVI
Length : 10 MiB for 1mn 45s 67ms
Video #0 : DivX 4 at 790 Kbps
Aspect : 320 x 240 () at 15.000 fps
Any cue???
It pbbly is a problem with Codecs-Audigy, but i would like to rule out the chance to be doing something wrong with the convertion (or know about workarounds)
Thanks again -
Poisondeathray
Adding audio to the video wont work for me since I need the video to give me the cue times to then build (compose) the audio to it.
That is why I need the Audition multitrack software.
If I may ask here... what is the basic logic behind avidemux?
There is three sidebars
Video, audio, format
Then there is the input output choice up there
let me guess... the screen(sidebars) shows (chosen input) what there is before the soft process,
And then choose output and it shows(sidebars) what the soft will output would (save)????
I dont seem to get whatever flow of work has... -
I haven't used audition for years (since cool edit)
I don't think it can open up a video?
I don't quite understand your workflow, but if audition can open up videos, it might be having a problem with the h.264 video
Instead of video=>copy, you may have to re-encode it, so select video=>xvid or some other compression codec like MPEG2
The input/output up top shows you the before/after view after processing. You can add filters etc..If you toggle the "side" view it will show them side by side (before/after) -
And about Audigy, yes, it is an audio multitrack/editor
However under multitrack mode, it shows a video track up there using just a strip of the screen, so musicians may use it as a guide to build the music around. -
Sorry I missed this info above:
Video #0 : DivX 4 at 790 Kbps
Aspect : 320 x 240 () at 15.000 fps
If your program doesn't accept this video, the I would then set video=>DVD (mpeg2enc), format (MPEG-PS) (A+V), and extension would be mpeg (e.g. "myfile.mpeg")
MPEG2 is pretty basic video codec, most programs should accept it -
Strange world of video.
First the gnomos around messing with the electricity.
i assume they are somehow quiet now...
Then I followed your latest instructions on Aviedemux and
all looked nice, before processing.
But then a error window, saying No audio. tried a couple of options for audio(mp3, wav) to no avail
And the latest, when running the convertion a new window, fatal error, no audio and it crashed...
I guess I am getting close.
By the way poisondeathray, your coaching feels great. It is an example, ill try to emulate (in my field). Thanks again. -
video=> dvd(mpeg2enc)
audio=>mp3 or copy
format=> MPEG-PS(A+V)
EXTENSION=> file.mpeg
save as
results in info window
No audio
crash
I went into preferences and I am trying to dislog audio
I'll keep trying -
You can specify audio, just use a "dummy track" and you can replace it later in your other editor
MPEG audio is either AC3 or MP2, so for the audio sidebar, select either
You can also specify "no audio" by going audio (up top)=> main track => audio source => none
EDIT: If you specify "no audio" you have to change the format to "MPEG" NOT "MPEG-PS(A+V)" -
ok
audio=> wav o mp3
results in the info window with no audio and then crashes
if
audio => copy
Then same info "there is no audio track" and then doesnt crashes, repeat equal(no change9 and crashes....
uhmmm
