is there a way to save at a Smaller size avi

Hello all, This is my first post.

My os is Windows XP Pro 64bit SP2
2GB memory
Video card ati all-in-wonder X600
Creative Sound Blaster Live! x64

I have a 20 min MPEG-2 and I edited it in Virtual Dub all went fine but thin wine I saved it as avi it was very Larger at 38.5 GB for 20 min. is there a way to save at a Smaller size

You are saving as uncompressed AVI

Try using a compression codec, like DivX or XviD

Video=>Compression

You might want to compress the audio as well into something like MP3

I have bean gone for a few days I would like thank ever one for there input and I well try them out
I used Pinnacle Studio and it worked grate but it is 32bit
