I desperatly need your help guys. I do a lot of dvd copying on my computer but I want to use those standalone 1:1 copiers. There are two problems with this. The first being css protection and the second being the booktype change. I use slysoft to remove the protection and I use liteon software to set the booktype to "DVD-ROM" on my liteon dvd writer when ripping using my computer.
As you can see I will not be able to use those two softwares on a standalone 1:1 copier. so what I am looking for is a dvd writer that has an in-built software/firmware (or whatever its called) that can remove the css protection and set the booktype to DVD-ROM.
I live in the UK by the way.
    Please reply. Thanks.

You won't find any that I'm aware of. The whole point of a standalone duplicator is to make an exact copy of the original. If you want to continue remove the CSS protection, you will have to continue with your current process. Also, depending on your DVD player, using +R media and bitsetting is likely irrelevant. I only use -R media and haven't had any issues in all of the players I've played them on.

I suppose you mean decrytor and not "encryptor", and no, there isn't a hardware based option for removing the CSS encryption.

I'm sorry to say, but you will never find such an animal. Everyone here is correct. Take it from someone that has spent money on this. I have tried it myself. Save yourself the money.
Yeah, I'm probably nuts... But what the hell. Nobody's perfect.

I also investigated this and found no way to add this capability to a duplicator. As far as I know, your only option is to rip and burn using a computer and the appropriate software.

Considering the price and limited functionality of a stand-alone duplicator, you would be much better off spending the money on a second computer dedicated to that process. Because you state that you need only one copy, any standard mini tower should do, connected via a KVM switch to your current monitor. For slightly more than a 1-1 duplicator, you can purchase a basic PC and use freeware (DVDFab HD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, Imgburn, DVD Rebuilder/CCE, etc.) for the total process. In addition, the second computer could serve as a backup should your primary unit develop a problem.

As far as needing DVD+R blanks; have you tried Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim -Rs ?

  9. CAnt really see why you would need to do this unless you're copying and selling in bulk?
