Dear Anyone.
Never subtitled anything before, so if there's already a post on this anyone knows about, point me to it. I've tried searches, come up blank.
Got Dekalog, which is a set of 10 Polish short films. Downloaded a subtitle file that, the site says, contains the subs for all 10 movies. The movies are in .AVI format, the subtitle file is a .PHP. Which is a format I've never heard of. Googled .PHP, found out it was to do with a program called Apache. Which is something else I've never heard of!
Do I use Apache to put the subtitles on the films, whatever Apache is, if so, do I buy a copy or is there a shareware/ freeware alternative? I've got Subtitle Workshop, but it won't read the .php file.
How do I split the .php file so I can add the correct portions to the correct films?
I have software to convert .AVI to most other formats if needed.
I've done a forum search on Apache and Subtitling Multiple Films and didn't have much luck. If anyone knows what I should have searched on, just tell me - sorry.
Yours respectfully
ulrichburke
