    I was wondering if there is any firmware that would enable me to use version 1.2 DVD-RW's? I just bought a 10 pack of Verbatim -RW's and unfortunately they are version 1.2 (which wasn't in the description) and it appears that the recorder cannot use these.

    That machine is picky with media. I couldn't get any 16x DVD-R to work, had to find 8x.
