  2. With the TV as the only display? DVI to HDMI cable. Like this:

Or with a DVI to RGA adapter and VGA cable:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812226014
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812108106

Your card may have come with the adapter.

The latter may be the better choice because the TV will probably not overscan the VGA input.

The only officially supported PC input on my Samsung LCD (different model from the original poster) is VGA. I think it is theoretically possible to connect a PC to Samsung LCDs via HDMI or DVI, but you have to be careful about the refresh rate as all are not supported. The TV manual might be helpful.

As far as I know all Samsung LCDs overscan via HDMI, DVI and component connections. Certain models may have firmware that defeats overscan only on the HDMI input. Samsung doesn't like customers to do their own firmware upgrades, so they don't typically make the firmware available. Some have reported ruining their TVs when trying to do their own firmware upgrades, so I don't recommend it. If the original poster doesn't want overscanning, a VGA connection is best.

All the recent 1080p models have a non-overscan option for HDMI. It's called Just Scan (vs. 16:9), 1:1 pixel mapping just like a computer monitor. I don't think the 1366x768 models have this for HDMI inputs, only VGA.

    That is a 1366x768 TV.

You can drive it with VGA at 1366x768 @60Hz. This is the easy solution.

For DVI->HDMI check the manual to see if 1366x768 with "just scan" is supported. Without "just scan", the TV will overscan.

  6. On my LNT-4665 if I change the input name to "PC" it will not overscan when set at 16:9. I don't know if the 720p sets do the same.
