I have not been able to get DivxMediaBuilder to work properly. I have all the needed helper applications/files (DivXMux, VirtualDubMod, DVDSubEdit, msvbvm60.dll & comctl32.ocx). I run "Normalize" and "Check for errors" prior to creating the new file and everything checks out ok... but I get numerous errors like this: time=18206 entryType=GENERAL_ENTRY_TYPE message=Bad fourcc in movi List. Offset(0x804) MediaSource objectId: 7 Bad fourcc in index. Offset(0x15C1A1E6) MediaSource objectId: 7 Bad fourcc in index.

I've gone thru this whole thread at doom9.org and cannot find anything to fix this. Someone else had this problem, but never got a response. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...51#post1081951

I get the same errors when I try to just add chapters to a title (without menus). This at least I was able to do with an old PC running Win2000, but why not XP?

not all avis will work. the fourcc needs to be DX50 afaik. the four cc can be changed with Nic's four cc changer. also the avi must use either the divx codec or the xvid codec and conform to the divx home theatre profile. you may need to use Avi ReComp to make the avis compatible with divx container.

    Thanks for your reply mgh,

Just as a quick experiment, I took an original "unmodified" DivX file I had previously been successful with on my Win2000 machine. I set it up exactly the same way....just to create chapters, and this is the error I get: time=67737 entryType=GENERAL_ENTRY_TYPE message="Audio " is required in strn. strn(Audio W) Offset(0x1174) MediaSource objectId: 7 I get no bad fourcc errors since it meets all the parameters you stated, but why wouldn't it work on WinXP? Is there something I'm missing?
