I've tried replay media catcher. It downloaded from RTSP stream an ASF file.
But I can't play it, on both the computers

  2. You also can try to use FVD Suite. It works with many websites, supports RTMP and converts video to numerous video formats, for example, wmv, mp3, mp4, etc.

This sticky thread (its first post) was very useful for me
However, it looks like nobody mentioned the command-line tool RTMPDump.

I want to make the following comments:
    1. The only one program that really works for me is StreamTransport, and looks like it's by far the best.
    - seems to work with any site that uses RTMP / RTMPE
    - It has included a web browser, and along with downloading the videos, it also shows the "rtmpe://" url link for the video, so you can download int with RTMPDump if you like.
    - However StreamTransport has a big problem: memory management. After downloading a few big TV Shows (400 MB each), my computer starts to creep and I have to restart it (I have to restart the computer, not the program).

    2. I tried the other programs in the list of the first post in this thread, but they are really really weak.
    - Replay Media Catcher - Does detect videos played by the browser, but only Youtube-like videos (for example CNN works). But not CNBC, which uses rtmp to stream videos
    - Replay Video Capture - it's just a screen capture program
    - FVD Suite - supports RMTP but supports only a list of certain sites. CNBC is not in the list for example
    - Net Transport - tried it, but it's unintuitive, and does not work to me
    - VDownloader can be helpful but doesn't support RTMP(E)

    3. For command-line downloading, RTMPDump is really great. However it has a problem (glitch): some certain videos will download with 3-4 times their actual size, repeating 3-4 times each minute. Really annoying.

    My question is:
    - Is there a better tool than StreamTransport, that doesnt make your computer to creep after a few downloads?
    - Is there a better command-line tool than RTMPDump?
    - Do you know any site that review this kind of software? Some reviews to tell which software have incorporated browser, which ones include a url snooper, and so on.

    thanks

Try using aTube Catcher on the YouTube videos, OR
download and install RealPlayer.....access desired video, then move mouse cursor over top right corner of the video screen...
"Download This Video" should appear...left click it and the download should begin (it's saved as an FLV file...you may want
to convert it to AVI or WNV ... use AnyVideoConvertor for this.)

    That's all folks!

Has anyone found streamtransport non-responsive to hulu? I am using 2171 the newest build. I am unable to download any video. I have restarted the program and no luck. I have yet to do a computer restart because I'm doing a video capture right now.

The program does work for me on another website but it doesn't seem to be working with hulu at the moment. It shows the information for the two ads before the show starts. However it doesn't give me the option to download the video once the show starts. It plays the video in the browser but I'm unable to download it.

    I'm using vista 32bit premium.

Is this a recent phenomenon or could I just be hitting an odd time and it will work again with hulu?

Are there good alternatives to streamtransport for hulu? I've tried a ff add on or two but nothing seems to be working right now. Thanks for tips.

I have a quick question. Do any of these programs work for ESPN 3? I prefer the online streaming of ESPN because it doesn't have their bottom ticker. Youtube downloader doesn't work for it and the only programs I found simply recorded off the screen which loses a lot of quality and would require me to play the whole video through.
Is there one that can rip the video?

  9. RtmpExplorer can download from ESPN3.com.

    JDownloader

It has absolutely no problems downloading from 99.9% of sites and it gives you different options what to download (FLV, MP3, MP4 - all in various qualities)
Plus, it's super fast at downloading.

  11. Web Stream Recorder can save Youtube and other flash video while you are watching it online. Moreover, this program can capture Windows Media, Real Media and Shoutcast (WinAmp) streams

  12. I leave the web site for grabbing the swf animation (I could not grab it) from: http://www.gobluetoo.com/
I need the animation: "The world's water: the facts" in the "why blue" section and the video near it.

I think all of the applications here cannot do the job.

    Thank you.

Use http://www.savevid.com/ or http://www.keephd.com/ or http://keepvid.com/ or or http://www.keepv.com/ or http://videodownloader.net to download.
    Or
Install the Firefox browser http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ then install the DownloadHelper https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3006/ or VideoDownloader plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/ or
Unplug plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2254/ or Ook? Video Ook! plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2584/

If that wont help try the free StreamTransport, it supports most new flash flv streaming protocols (RTMP, RTMPE, HTTP).

Thank you for your interest. I downloaded it; it is only a still image; it is not the entire animation!

Then you should know sth about actionscript in order to decompile and recompile this swf file:
    http://www.gobluetoo.com/gobluetoo.swf

    Good Luck

  18. Thank you again. I need to get the animation in: http://www.gobluetoo.com when I go to the menu voice: "Why blue" > "The World Water's: The Facts".
I do not see the link between a programming language, its compiling and decompiling in order to get that animation from that link!
When I click on the link you gave me is just to see the home page without the logo on top left!

    Hello one and all,
What is the best and easiest software for downloading streaming video from NETFLIX?

I am using the Firefox FlashVideoDownloader...but it is downloading 1.2 MB at at time. Why is this? Is this normal? Wouldn't it download the entire movie - rather than small pieces of it? (I clicked on the DOWNLOAD ALL button)

My goal is to be able to burn the movie on a DVD so we watch it from the DVD.

    Advise me. Help!

    Thank you

    @Andy Jackson,

Fortunately, netflix has a service where they will actually send a DVD to your house, thus saving you the trouble of both pirating movies and violating the terms of this forum.
