    How do you upgrade firmware on an external firewire DVD writer like the TDK dvdRW880N .

    same like a internal dvd burner just reboot the pc when you're done and power down the external as well.

    With the software utility provided by the manufacturer and the firmware update provided by the manufacturer.

    Does TDK provide these for the drives it relabels?
