hey there. hope someone can help me out

i have anime in mkv format with soft subs. when i convert it to mp4 for use on my ipod, subs disappear. using some guide on this forum and mkvtoolnix, i demuxed the mkv file which i understand breaks the mkv file into an audio, viddeo and subtitle file.

but now what?? i have the sub title files with *.ass extension. where to go from here? kinda confused on what the next step should be. how can i add these subs to the mp4 video file? basically, how can i add these subs to the video?

please help! 5 gb of anime lying around with no one to watch it!

You might take a look at his guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic339841.html?highlight=ipod%20subtitles

You probably have to burn them permanently into the video unless ipod can use selectable subs.

    And welcome to our forums.
