Best conversion for HD MP4?

Hi!

My first thread here so please be nice

I have a Sanyo HD1000 that records MP4 files in 1920 x 1080i @ 60 Hz to a SD memory card.
The files on the memory card can't be opened with Pinnacle Studio Plus 11.1.1 and Pinnacle support has confirmed that there program don't support HD MP4-files created by Sanyo and Samsung cameras.

My question is how I should convert the MP4-files to get a good result that I can import to Pinnacle Studio?
Where can I find a codec/converter that helps me with this?
