problem downloading ffmpegX.dmg

Hi there.
really sorry to have to post this, but i cant seem to download the ffmpegX.dmg.
each time with "firefox" it just times out, and with "safari" it leaves an empty file with nothing in it. i have already downloaded the binaries as set out in the directions and are on my desk top.

i'm not great with tech but i can usually manage to install stuff like this. am i doing something wrong ?

The download link may re-direct to the FTP protocol with some unusual high FTP server port number in the 58000-60000 range. Possibly that could be blocked by a local setting or proxy?

the mplayer is great and i'm only on a G3 imac600 !!!!
