a mpg (ffmpeg's mpgs for dvd) joiner app?

hi,

anyone know of an app which will join the .mpgs which ffmpegx outputs (for dvd disks for dvd players) which will do so, join, in a way that's ok for toast and dvd players?

i had a go with mpgtxwrap ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/10702 ) and it failed to join the mpgs at all (something to do with 'no header' or 'header not recognised' or something, can't remember). but it did nothing.

i also had a go with Rosetta, an old piece of software from the same maker of the old newsgroup reader app Thoth, which did join the mpgs, and toast did accept as is ok, but toast said the movie was only the length of the first part of the various mpg parts which were joined, and playback of this file is dubuous; the player pauses at the joins (sometimes with a grey screen), and i need to press pause then play to continue playing so obviously that hasn't worked brilliantly.

anyone know of a piece of software which will join the mpgs ffmpegx outputs for dvd disks, so that the joined mpgs are fully ok? (i'm using os x 10.3.9)

rnc's MoreMissingTools has an MPG joiner tool. Have you tried that?


Also, MPEG Streamclip's Fix Timecode Breaks function might help with the correct duration.


Lastly, DVD-Video supports going from the end of a clip to any other point on the DVD, so you don't have to join them for continuous playback.

thanks very much for that case. i'll give those a go. non joined files don't play on my dvd player even with the appropriate check box ticked in toast -- when it comes to the end of a file it plays the first one from the start, so for movies whcih are in multiple files it's most annoying.
