I know it's possible to add, I guess it would be called Album Art, it to a WMVideo.
What's the easiest and free way to do it?
I have Windows Media Encoder but I couldn't figure it out.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Album cover art is pulled from a database based on the file information which is typically encoded in the file tags during the ripping process. Video files work the same (from my understanding anyway) when indexed through a player such as iTunes or WMP. Although typically all you will get is a thumbnail pulled from the video itself (which is standard in Windows and not a player).

Right, when I add a wmv in MCE, it shows a thumbnail of/from the video.
There is a way to add cover art in the file tag so instead of a thumbnail it will show a picture that's saved in the tags.

When you play this trailer, WMP show the movie poster instead of a thumbnail.
I wanna do the same thing for all my existing wmv's. -
Have you tried opening the file in a tag editor and seeing how the movie poster information is listed. It may be imbedded into the file itself.
