I used Avidemux to convert VobSub (IDX + SUB) to SRT. I got problems with it. First of all, the file coding was incorect. I have to changed it to ANSI and after that use TimeAdjuster to fix it to readable state. Second problem was that subtitle lines weren't displayed long enough. There was no this problem in original VobSub. What went wrong?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Did you want to convert IDX/SUB => SRT?
I'm not sure what programs avidemux uses to do this, but subtitle workshop might be able to do a better job -
