Joining AVIs - Vdub reports audio streams do not share common sample rate

One file is reported at 16271 samples/sec - the other at 16269, so near and yet so far.

Questions:

(1) These two files appear in all other ways to have been created by the same person using the same software. Is it normal for the audio rates to differ in this manner?

(2) What's the most expeditious way of correcting one or both files so they can be joined? I've checked all the guides and none of those I can find (the Doom9 guides are giving 404 errors) seem to address this topic. I am familiar with the basic functions of Virtualdub and AutoGK, but not the specialized stuff such as uncoupling audio from video and tweaking them separately.

(3) In doing my own rips to AVI, how can I ensure that they will be "apples to apples" so that the resulting AVIs can be joined by Vdub without a hitch?

They're both probably VBR encoded audio

If the audio is MP3, run both of them through AVI_Gain_Regular.bat

The normalized output files will both have 224K Mp3 CBR audio
