I have captured video from vhs tapes, using Pinnacle Studios Plus. The videos look good using Windows Media Player-when I upload the videos to YouTube the videos are dark. Is there software that I can use to lighten the videos enough so that they look natural on YouTube?

I did put youtube into search. All the results were about too little quality. Youtube sees the too little quality, so they upgrade the quality on ALL the videos- screwing the people that have good quality or better videos. Now I have to do the equilavent of "dumbing-down" of the videos.

Did you try some of the filters in Pinnacle?
Windows Movie Maker has a "Video Effect" for "Brightness, Increase". you may want to try that.
