    I activated the feature to transfer files from my dish dvr (Vip 622) to my external usb 2.0 hd to my pc. I searched google, etc and figured this was the best place to come for this issue. Please help

    What is the question?

    The Dish DVR will likely store the files on the ext HDD in it's own file format. Depending on which file system the Dish unit uses, your PC likely won't even be able to read the HDD.

    Go to Yahoo!, check out the Yahoo! Groups, look for a group called "DISHRIP" (or just google "DISHRIP"). Should be some helpful info there.

    yeah once the external H.D.D gets formated for the vIP622DVR the pc won't be able to read it after i've tried all kinds of ways but no success ;( hopefully someone figures it out...
