Hi. This is my first attempt at playing an FLV from a website and I seem to be having a strange problem of the FLV skipping/jerking every few frames. An example can be viewed on the following link:

    http://kingsway.inandaboutscarborough.co.uk/mediaplayer.html

The FLV itself is can be found at http://kingsway.inandaboutscarborough.co.uk/bed-breakfast-accommodation-virtual-tour.flv (Sorry for the long name, it's for SEO purposes!)

The video was originally recorded and edited by my brother in NTSC and then converted to FLV afterwards. The strange thing is that when I play the FLV direct on mine or his machines, it plays fine (nice and smooth).

I have tried a few FLV players and converted the originally AVI to FLV using different utilities/programs, though seem to be getting the same jerky result each time when the file plays from the web. I expect I'm doing something wrong though can not see what it is.

I haven't got too much knowledge/experience of videos though believed it could have been something to frame rates. However, the example above uses the JW FLV Player, which I was led to believe should accurately play FLV files of any frame rate?

Any advice or help on this would be greatly appreciated as I'm really struggling with this!

    Thanks

Perhaps the server's uplink to the web is too slow, causing the frame hesitation. It plays fine after I wait a minute for it to completely load in my browser.

Try to create another flv, half the size and half the bitrate just to rule it out. You can also check your server's UPLOAD speed (which will be everyone elses download speed) by opening up a browser on it and testing performance at

  3. Something is wrong with the embedded player. When downloaded the video plays fine.
