Ding but no file

I've got everything installed right. I even get a ding! finished, but after trying to convert my mpeg-1 file and extract the audio to mp3 it shoes up but there isn't any file. A name and everything except says Zero Kb in info. Newbie for sure so what am I missing.

ffmpegX expects MPEG-1 as a proper .mpg file. It doesn't support converting muxed MPEG-1 in a .mov container.
You may try MPEG Streamclip's File > Export Audio.
