Here's my question; my LCD HDTV (Westinghouse w4207) is a 720p tv with a resolution of 1366 by 768. When I hook it up to my computer via dvi, am I better off setting the resolution to 1366 by 768 or 1280 by 720? (My video card can handle both). What's the difference between the two? Also, the settings in nvidia's panel doesn't seem to recognize 1366 by 768 as a valid HD resolution; does that mean that somehow the image won't be as good as if I had set it as 1280 by 720?

I have the same tv apparently. I have a dvi-hdmi cable I just bought and I can go to 1366x768.
Have you updated to the latest drivers from nvidia? The latest drivers will let you go to 1366x768. Trust me this will look a lot better. I had it at 720p over component and it looked OK but the dvi-hdmi cable with the 1366x768 resoloution looks great.
By the way my set is 32 inches what is yours?Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
My video card can do either 1366 by 768 or 1280 by 720. Right now I'm running it at 1366 by 768 through a DVI cable. Would there be any quality difference if I were to use a dvi-hdmi cable? I thought that dvi and hdmi were pretty much the same thing.....
Also, my tv's 42 inches, which is admittedly too big for my small apartment

If you have a dvi input jack than I would think it would be best to stick with that and not convert. My 32 inch westinghouse has component, vga, hdmi, rca/svideo but no dvi cable. That was why I bought the converter dvi-hdmi. I have to assume that you are essentially getting the best you can with the straight dvi - it should be all digitial.Donatello - The Shredder? 1366x768 is preferable, as that is the television's native resolution and no scaling will need to be applied to the signal from the PC. I have a TV of the same resolution and 1280x720 looks okay, but definitely not as sharp as 1366x768.
