convert DTS from MKV to AC3

Have you tried the latest version of MKVExtractGUI, with the proper and latest build of mkvtoolnix installed to the same directory as MKVExtractGUI?

yes..i already tried that too..
but when i add the MKV file, the video and audio files dont appear.. =/
i already tried alot programs!!
i only want to extract the audio but its geting me crazy..

Or you could go and buy the disc instead of downloading it. T2 has been widely available for some time, and comes with both DTS and AC3 EX audio tracks.

ok..
after extracting the dts with MKVtools, i used Tranzcode to encode the audio to 6 mono wavs.
after that i converted the 6 mono wavs to an AC3 file using WAV to AC3 encoder.

then i usedTMPGenc 3 to merge the AC3 file with the video, but after the output the audio is out of sync.

suggestions?

Use popcorn mkv audio converter for DTS to AC3 within an MKV file. Set AC3 to 448kbps for greater DVD player compatibility rather than 640. Output will be a 'new' mkv file with AC3 audio. Popcorn also gives you the option to retain the DTS audio within the file (as an additional audio track) if so desired. Excellent tool in my opinion. Please post back your outcome for other users.

I had problems streaming MKV files with DTS audio using PS3 Media Server through my PS3. I then came across Popcorn MKV audio converter. I converted a few MKV files with DTS audio. The conversion went fine and I was able to play some and got audio but on some files, i get "data corrupted" status on the PS3. On the PC, i get the following message "TsMuxer.exe has encountered a problem" and sometimes it says "Mencoder.exe has encountered a problem". When that happens, the file that is shown on the PS3 becomes "data corrupted".

Use MkvMerge again loading the video & audio(Ac3) file to make a new Mkv video...

i use tsmuxer to seperate the audio then i use Xvid4psp5 to convert the DTS to AC3 works everytime, then use tmuxer to add the AC3 back in with the video.

DaudioK worked for me at first. But just recently, it started getting "runtime error #6 - overflow" errors. So, I tried Xvid4psp5 - but it kept crashing. Popcorn mkv audio converter, however, worked like a Swiss watch. There's some pretty powerful freeware out there, that's for sure.

Here's a hoot (grin). I recently upgraded my ProCoder version from 2 to 3 ... and now, when I have an MKV file I want to convert to MPEG2, I simply "rename" the MKV extension to AVI. ProCoder 3 recognizes the video AND the DTS audio ... allowing me to convert the DTS audio to AC3 5.1 while the video is converted to MPEG2. And, it all stays in sync.

Seems to me that is much easier to open the mkv with
Pazera Free Audio Extractor and choose whatever conversion
you need from the output format menu.
