VLC and FirstPlay

I have made a DVD that contains a Firstplay Video. MPC shows the firstplay but VLC does not. Any idea how to get it to show the video? Thanks

I think what he is saying is the first video intro, fbi warning on a authored dvd VLC ignores and goes straight to the menu. I think this is by design. If you are trying to test a dvd you may want to look at power dvd.

I have seen the behavior you mention, and I am not aware of any work around.

Thats exactly what it is. I authored the DVD with TDA3 which allows you to add a firstplay clip aka intro clip.

Yes I have. MPC shows the firstplay video but VLC is my player of choice.

Well if anyone can answer your question, I would expect it to be someone in the VLC forum. Aside from that, it sounds like it is just the way VLC handles DVD playback. And knowing that it doesn't playback DVD the way you want, you now know not to use it to verify your projects. Knowing is half the battle.
