My computer slots are full. Any suggestions for occasional TV to computer capture via USB?
I wanted a Hauppauge 250 or 350 to build a PVR but...I'm looking for other options.
I have a spare computer to build a PVR but I'm not sure how much it would get used.

  2. How about an external hard drive? You can get a 250 gb for under $100 these days.

Hauppauge does have some USB products: http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/prods_usb.html No experience with them, but their other products are popular.

Check the supported tuner list for the software you plan to use. Check user forums for that software.

The WinTV-PVR-USB2 is probably the most supported USB tuner.

SORRY....this problem has been solved. I bought a PVR-350 and removed a card that had 4 USB ports on it....leaving me with 6 USB ports.
