basically...i wanna add a music clip on top of the main audio track...best example i can think of is the directors commentary track on a dvd...you can hear the main audio but the director talking over the top it is what i wanna accomplish
Can someone direct me to a good or simple consumer app that could do the trick and if not...any app so i can give em a go?

Personally I like Vegas for this type of job, although any good multi-track editor can do it. I like Vegas for this because it has envelopes. Apply a volume envelope to the original audio and it becomes a simple task to vary the volume up and down under the commentary as required, simply by adding and shifting points.
