    Hi people,

I use convertxtoDVD and i know how to add subtitles, they show up and work. But i just don't understand how to align them. The subtitles are an added SRT file, maybe i should adjust the spacing in the SRT file? But the sentences are nicely typed no problems????

My subtitles show up like this:

    Example:

    Hello my name is James,

    can i help you?

When i look in the preview window they show up like this:

Hello my name is James, can i help you?

How can i reduce the space between the 2 sentences? So i end up with:

    Hello my name is James,
    can i help you?

Please help me get out of this problem.....

    Cheers,

    David.

SRT files do not support much, if any, formatting. How they look depends on the authoring app.

If ConvertX supports ASS format subtitles (edit with eg, Aegisub) you could use that and define the font, spacing, etc.

Or make bitmap format subs, such as SUP, using, eg, SubtitleCreator, which again gives you more formatting control.

There are quite a few options available. Have you played around with them?

I don't want to send you up a false trail:

First make sure that ConvertX can use ASS subs -- I don't use ConvertX.

Also, I think MysticE is referring to options in ConvertX, so look for subtititle formatting options there.
If you can define formatting there that would solve your problem.

I'd start at looking in settings -> subtitles -> Text subtitles rendering settings

    Plenty of options there

    I used aegisub with success!

I loaded the SRT file into aegisub, and played it with my MKV sample file.

Then i saved the SRT as *.ass and loaded it into ConvertxtoDVD, and adjusted the size and it aligned the subs perfectly after conversion.

Thanks for helping me out people! I was messing around with this for a couple of days now, seeing as there is no real guide referring to subtitle rendering in ConvertxtoDVD.

    RESPECT!
