    Good day mates,

I am a rookie on this subject and ask everyone for help, as I am stuck.
I want to play a movie on my computer and show it on my TV (28” fatscreen). The video-card is an ATI Radeon X600 with the latest drivers. The card itself has an S-VHS connection, that I have drawn a cable from, together with a cable from the soundcard, into a scart adapter.
The TV-screen is all black, except from the sound which I can listen to. Does anyone have a guide on how to set everything right?

That guide should be bundeled with your gfx card, I'd think.

Is that actually an s-video connection? Does it say so in the book?

According to the book the connection is an S-VHS.

Do I have to set the graphic-card somehow?

Yes, you usually have to drop the desktop res to 800x600, then clone your monitor to TV out. It's all controlled by the screen control panel.
On some gfx cards the connected TV has to be hooked up and switched on when your system boots, to enable TV out at all.
On all gfx cards I've tried, I've had little luck with S-Video. B/W output at best. Composite has worked better for me.

You've tried doing everything according the the manual for your gfx card? What did it say?

I don't have a manual for my card. I've tried to find one on the net but with no luck.

I've tried to clone the TV via catalyst control center but with no luck also. It's bad that I can't post images of what the control center is showing.

A guide would be much appreciated.
