    I acquired a file that when I tired to open it, this program, "avi chunk viewer," and, message (This avi file was not prepared for sequential viewing. The alternative "avi splitter" will now let the default one handle it. The complete re interleaving of this file is strongly recommended before burning onto a slow media like cd-rom.")

    I've been able to sample the movie in this file, and, the picture seem to "flicker" as if not all the information for the picture was present.

    I'm letting this "avi chunk viewer" run, doing what it purportedly supposed to do, reintegrate all the information in the file. But I'm wondering, is this another "junk" program that someone adds to files that are malware, spyware, or, etc.?

    Thanks.

  2. This typically means that all the video is at the start of the file and then all the audio is at the end, or vice versa, rather than being interleaved in small chunks. You can fix this with VirtualDub:

    File -> Open Video File
    Video -> Direct Stream Copy
    File -> Save as AVI.

    What player were you using that gave the message?
