    I have a DVD here that has 23,976 pics/s and a framerate of 29,976. The quenstion: what is the difference between pics/s en framerate?

    It's 24 pictures / second but it's displayed as 29.976fps using 2:3 pulldown, see http://www.zerocut.com/tech/pulldown.html .
