    Had a chance to test this $75 software out. Overall, quite impressive. It ONLY converts AVCHD to MPEG2, DV25, and Uncompressed AVI. The decoder is built right into the software, so it isn't a directshow conversion process like conventional encoders.

    Performance on a Duo Core E4500 Proc was 20fps 1440x1080 --->720x480i
    Deinterlacing halved the speed. Nice quality deinterlacing algo, minor blocking on some scenes.

    Image quality was very sharp. For folks who want to simplify their conversion process and don't want to spend a lot of time doing it, it's a good product. Simple to configure as well.

    The source is from a HD camcorder that records in avchd. Or do you mean something else?

    OK. I believe it was mostly due to deinterlacing. I'll check the settings and post the info later
    BTW, the results aren't perfect, but the speed and ease of use make it a product to consider, especially if you just want to convert your AVCHD without thinking about it too much.

    Edit:

    Sony vegas pro 7e or 8 works with any format.(m2ts or ts even).
    But to merge two m2ts files in one in a second use this http://www.mediafire.com/?5d4yymvz40u
    or search for tsMuxeR_1.2.9
    All the best.
