What do you want to record on it? What features are required?

I recently purchased the Philips 3575 and am liking it. It's only good at SP mode, like the Panasonic would have been, but the image is quite a bit cleaner than a Panasonic was. It does DIVX, has a 160GB hard drive, and a SDTV/QAM tuner (I can record widescreen HD content, in 720x480i, on a DVD). I've got it connected to my HDTV and I'm happy with it. It was $300 at Walmart.
