Problem with Tevion HDMI DVD player

Bought one of these from Aldi here in the UK a couple of weeks back. Haven't had chance to use it much, but initially impressed with it. But now it reads all disks as Bad Disk. Is there anything I can do, or does it need to go back?

Commercial. Since the post, I've been able to swap it for another one: I was wondering whether making it region free may have had an impact, if so I wont do the sdame with the new one?

It's possible that was the cause, but there is no way to know for sure.
